Sanela

Talk to your hearing aid instead of tapping through menus: Sanela turns it up, turns it down, switches programs and plays radio straight into your ear. An app for Android, starting with the Oticon More.

The challenge

Modern hearing aids can do an amazing amount. But the manufacturers' apps are cumbersome: tiny buttons, nested menus, jargon. So many wearers hardly use them and miss out on what their device can actually do.

Our solution

Sanela turns the hearing aid into someone you can talk to. One tap on the big button, then a sentence like “louder”, “restaurant” or “How full is the battery?” is enough, and Sanela answers by voice, straight into your ear. The app talks to both hearing aids via Bluetooth, explains the audiologist's programs in plain words, plays radio into your ear and helps you search when a hearing aid has gone missing. The fitting stays with the audiologist; Sanela takes care of everyday use. Next up is an AI that thinks along and understands free speech too.
